Show about almost next to nothing

Larry David was the brains behind Seinfeld, but during that show's mammoth run, it was only his name we noticed on the credits.

Curb Your Enthusiasm
The Complete Sixth Season
Warner Bros.
RRP: $39.95

That all changed when Curb Your Enthusiasm arrived on screens.

It's good to finally put a face to the name that appeared so prominently in the Seinfeld credits for many years.

David's own show, starring himself, has his comedic fingerprints all over it.

I never caught this series when it first arrived on Kiwi television screens and now I'm kicking myself.

Funny? Yes.

Clever? You bet.

Worth the wait? Definitely.

If the sixth season is any indication of how this series has gone, then I'm going out to try and find the first five seasons immediately.

From a frustrating hunt for a beeping smoke alarm in his house, which then ended with an all-too-familiar battle to stop the noise, through to the witty, dry humour in every single scene, this series is a delight.

Seinfeld may have been the show about nothing but this is a show about almost next to nothing.

A classic moment is when Larry devises a cunning excuse to avoid going to a party by . . . well, to say would be revealing too much.

Suffice to say it sets up a classic comedic moment.

You know how some comedy series seem almost like a chore to watch? Prepare to sit down, strap yourself in and just let this wash over you.

It's just one of those comedies that demands you come back for more.

The door is always open, Larry.
