A model plucked from the shop front found herself in hot water by the seaside yesterday.

Dunedin's Isabelle Jenkins was doing her second fashion shoot for local label Company of Strangers after starting her modelling career filling in for another model who cancelled.

Ms Jenkins has now claimed the role for herself.

Company of Strangers director Sara Munro said Ms Jenkins worked for the company in its Dunedin store.

She was a friend of the company's photographer, now Melbourne-based Dunedin photographer Gabrielle Devereux.

A model who had been booked for the company's winter campaign last July cancelled the night before the photographic shoot.

Ms Devereux suggested Ms Jenkins, who is studying politics at the University of Otago, was good in front of a camera.

She was given a go and "she was amazing''.

"She's got a wee bit of a Kate Moss vibe,'' Mrs Munro said.

The St Clair Hot Salt Water Pool was chosen for yesterday's shoot because it was "a cool venue'', and because a signature print in the collection was marbled, and looked as if it was under water.
