Frontman of New Zealand heavy rock band Shihad for more than 25 years, Jon Toogood is ditching his electric guitar for a solo, acoustic nationwide tour that will feature some of his favourite songs (including his own).

What was the best birthday present you ever received, and why?

The arrival of my new baby boy, Yahia, nine days before my birthday. Why? Because I absolutely adore him.

What smell do you find irresistible?
The smell of my boy Yahia's head when I wake him up in the morning. Yum.

What is your least favourite thing about humanity?
Greed, selfishness, poverty and war.

What's something only your family knows about you?
That's for them to know.5.

You are a new addition to the crayon box. What colour are you, and why?
Black. Because it looks cool.
