Rescue aircraft have resumed the search for a pilot and plane that have been missing for two days in central Queensland.
The single engine plane left Gympie on Saturday morning but failed to arrive at the remote airstrip near Dixalea, about 87km west of Gladstone.
Five fixed-wing aircraft and 12 helicopters will scour a 6200sq km area today.
A spokeswoman for the Australian Maritime Safety Authority, which is co-ordinating the search, said the terrain made finding the plane difficult.
"It's very mountainous and very forested, so it's quite dense terrain and that makes the search a difficult one," she said.
She said they had received no contact from the lone pilot.
