100 delegates for student meeting

About 100 tertiary student delegates from throughout the country will attend the New Zealand Union of Students Associations latest national conference, which opens tomorrow at the Otago Polytechnic campus in Dunedin.

The three-day gathering will be opened by a keynote address from Tertiary Education Minister Pete Hodgson tomorrow morning.

Mr Hodgson will also participate in "The Great Tertiary Education Debate", at 3pm to-morrow.

Representatives of all the main political parties have been invited to participate in this public debate, at the University of Otago College of Education auditorium, in Union St East, conference organisers said.

Maori tertiary student representatives held preliminary caucus meetings yesterday and members of the Tertiary Women's Focus Group will meet today, before the main conference begins.
