Songs and entertainment everyone will enjoy is the aim of the bands selected to perform at the Dunedin New Year's Eve concert in the Octagon.
From the nine bands which put their hands up to take part, local performers Cougar Zoo and the Foxy Tones had been selected as support acts to the main act, Bluestone, Dunedin City Council community events co-ordinator Marilyn Anderson said.
The groups were selected by a seven-person panel representing a range of age groups, from Dunedin's Youth Action committee to Age Concern, as was a sound engineer for the event.
Cougar Zoo, a three-man ensemble plays classic hits and modern chart-toppers, while Foxy Tones is an all-girl act with a "repertoire of high quality, custom made, dance floor friendly tracks".
