Mosgiel Volunteer Fire Brigade life member Ray Wilson was recently recognised with a 25-year gold star for service to the brigade.
The event, held at the Taieri Bowling Club earlier this month, was organised to celebrate Mr Wilson's achievement and recognise a host of other milestones.
Among them were the retirements of life member Peter Andrews and 52-year volunteer John Bethune.
Senior station officer Paul Falconer said the event gave the crowd of about 170 a chance to thank Mr Wilson for his contribution to the service and community.
