Brains on her mind

University of Otago medical student Lucy Keefe (20) has a close encounter with a huge inflatable brain during Brain Day at the Otago Museum.

A series of public talks attracted crowds as Brain Day, part of a wider Brain Week, proved a ''fantastic'' success at the weekend.

Irene Mosley, of the University of Otago Brain Health Research Centre, said the decision to move the Neurological Foundation activities from the previous university campus setting to the museum was continuing to prove successful. The museum venue helped to break down barriers, and fostered greater public awareness of the latest research in neuroscience.
