It's a world away from home and when the Welsh rugby supporters leave New Zealand's shores they will return to a world forever changed.
The group of about 70 Welsh touring New Zealand for the ongoing rugby tour were in a celebratory mood and whatever their opinions on the UK's exit from the European Union - or the Welsh performance on the rugby pitch - nothing was going to bring them down.
Phil Williams, the brother of British Lions legend J.P.R. Williams, said the Brexit gave the UK a chance to show its wares to the world.
"It's challenging, it's divisive and it's caused a lot of problems, but I try to think the pint is half full, not half empty,'' he said.
"I like to think it's a challenge, but it's a chance for us to show the world what we can do.''
Roger Griffiths, also of Wales, said the news of David Cameron's resignation had come as a shock.
However, he had a view on who could take his place.
"[Welsh rugby coach] Warren Gatland should be prime minister,'' he said.
"He can't do any worse.''
He also joked about what it would mean for the group's return home.
"We'll never get back into the country now,'' he said with a laugh.
"We'll have to swim across the [River] Severn.''
Many of the group - which gathered at Southern Rugby Football Club last night - joked Gatland, despite his New Zealand birth, was the right man for the job.
However, before he shifts his focus to gaining the leadership of the UK he will have to rally his charges to lift their game in tonight's final test, as the team has three losses from three games on the tour so far, with a combined margin of 115-50, including a 40-7 loss to the Chiefs.
