Along with offering cuddles, the French bulldog multitasks as a magnet to draw students to the warden’s office at University College.
Assistant warden of University College (Unicol) John Coughlan said Lola had helped him with his role of looking out for the welfare of students by drawing them into his office.
"The students will come in to see Lola and then it turns into an ‘Oh hey, I’ve got these two or three things you can help me with’.
"It’s a really good way of getting students in to see her first and then helping them in return."
"She’s very placid. I think I’ve heard her bark maybe a handful of times since we got her.
"She just wants to lie on people’s laps and get lots of attention and rubs."
Mr Coughlan has joint ownership of Lola with assistant warden of Studholme Leo Thompson.
The pair are married and live at Unicol with Lola.
They have had her for eight months now.
"She’s a Uni-stud, but she lives here at Unicol," he said.
In the past few months, Lola was said to have received pats from several thousand students around campus.
"She’s getting to the point now where she just expects it from people who see her.
"It’s quite nice but she’s getting a bit cocky, I think."
