Car winds up on tree after crash down bank

A car was balancing precariously on a tree in Dunedin's Queens Dr after it went down a bank earlier today.

One person received minor injuries, but was out of the vehicle.

A police spokeswoman said officers were called to the scene, near Cobden St, in City Rise at 2.39pm.

Fire and Emergency New Zealand and St John also attended.

The road would be closed for ‘‘quite some time’’ while the car, which appeared to be held up by a tree, was extracted, the spokeswoman said.
