Axe likely used in service station break-in

An alleged burglary took place at the Mosgiel Mobil petrol station early this morning.

A police spokeswoman said they were notified of an alarm going off and a smashed window on Factory Rd at 12.49am.

‘‘It appears an axe was used to break in."

Only an empty till drawer appeared to have been taken, she said.

‘‘Police ask that anyone who may have seen anything to get in contact.’’
