A police dog and its handler tracked a man accused of breaching his parole conditions 1.5km before his arrest on Friday night, on another busy weekend for Dunedin officers.
Senior Sergeant Craig Dinnissen, of Dunedin, said the 24-year-old man was tracked from a property in High St 1.5km by a police dog and its handler, sought for arrest on a parole recall warrant.
The man tried to ''steal off'' on a push bike but could not escape the dog team.
Also that Friday night, an 18-year-old man was arrested for disorderly behaviour after a fight outside the Mornington Tavern.
