Criminals continue to target properties in Mornington prompting police to remind residents to secure their belongings.
Senior Sergeant Craig Dinnissen said there had been more thefts and breaks in the hill suburb at the weekend.
Tools were being stolen from building sites and cars were being broken into with cash and other items like laptops being taken, Snr Sgt Dinnissen said.
The latest thefts followed a similar theme so there could be person or group targeting the area, he said.
"Once they've got easy pickings they just keep going back so making sure everything is secure is the trick.''
Any suspicious activity in the area should be reported to police immediately.
