A person injured in an assault was taken to Dunedin Hospital by ambulance today, after police were alerted at 3.30pm.
A police spokeswoman said the person, with an injured arm, may have been assaulted elsewhere and had later arrived at a property in Calton Hill, Dunedin.
The person was taken to hospital at 4pm and police remained at the property until 4.45pm.
Police inquiries were continuing, and the background of the assault remained unclear, including if it was a domestic-related matter, the spokeswoman said.
