Youth linked to car thefts arrested

A youth linked to two car thefts and three petrol drive-offs has been arrested following a driving complaint in Dunedin.

Senior Sergeant Craig Dinnissen, of Dunedin, said the male was arrested following the complaint in the suburb of St Clair which involved a stolen vehicle.

He said the youth had been involved in two cars being stolen from an Andersons Bay motor company.

One of the vehicles had been recovered.

He was also involved in three petrol drive-offs, Snr Sgt Dinnissen said.

The youth was referred to Youth Services and his associates were being sought.
