Dunedin dachshund Walter walks in the sun in the Esplanade at St Clair near advertising for a food delivery service, which the Dunedin City Council says is non-compliant.

"That sort of advertising is not permitted," a council spokesman said.

"We will be contacting the party responsible to remind them of their obligations and the sticker will be removed."
