Taskforce mooted over housing

A mayoral taskforce could to be set up next year to help with housing services in Dunedin.

The taskforce and about $6.5 million of housing renewals have been included in the Dunedin City Council's draft 10-year plan.

Under the proposal the taskforce will be established early next year and include representatives from the council, social housing, property development, central government sectors and Ngai Tahu.

It will consider central government's policies on housing, explore opportunities for collaboration in the delivery of housing services and provide strategic recommendations for housing in Dunedin.

Yet another story on social housing/homelessness with an accompanying image from Rome, Italy. Is it really that difficult to find an actual image from New Zealand... or does the problem not really exist?
