Home for community hub in South Dunedin

The South Dunedin community is set to have a permanent home for its hub, with the Dunedin City Council setting aside funds for the project.

About $5.2 million has been included in the council's draft budget in 2020 and 2021 for a South Dunedin Community Hub.

The money would be used to provide a permanent community hub in South Dunedin which would include a council service centre, community spaces, a service point for the Dunedin Public Libraries, free internet access, a community learning and technology centre and public meeting rooms.

A pop-up hub has been based at Cargill Enterprises premises in Hillside Rd since September tnis year and the council had signed a two-year lease on the space.
