A car was astray from where it should have been in Vauxhall, Dunedin, this afternoon.

The vehicle slipped into a dicey spot after a manoeuvre on private property went awry just before 1pm, emergency services said.

The driver was unhurt, police said.

A tow truck was called in to remedy the situation, a Fire and Emergency NZ spokesman said.
