Drivers injured in collision

One driver received minor injuries after the vehicles they were driving collided near Taieri Mouth on Saturday.

A police spokeswoman said the incident happened on Taieri Mouth Rd, between Otokia-Kuri Bush Rd and Dicksons Rd, about 4pm.

Both drivers and a witness were interviewed by Dunedin police.

The road was closed for a short time while debris was cleared from the scene.

The injured driver was taken to hospital as a precaution.

Investigations into the cause of the accident were continuing, she said.

Meanwhile, a motorcyclist was flown to Dunedin Hospital by helicopter with moderate injuries on Saturday after his bike  and a truck collided on the Omarama-Lindis Pass Rd about 1.30pm.

A police spokeswoman said the incident happened near Longslip Creek Bridge No1. 

The road was closed for about 20 minutes while the motorcyclist was picked up by the Otago Rescue Helicopter.

Police were investigating the cause of the incident, she said.
