Fertiliser spill closes Dunedin street

A large amount of fertiliser spilled in central Dunedin, blocking a busy street for a time.

A police spokeswoman said officers were called to the intersection of Frederick St and Castle St, after a truck appeared to have lost its load.

Contractors were on their way to the scene, she said.

The NZ Transport Agency said the road was closed after a spill.

The road has since reopened.
