Fire crews were called out to the Dunedin Energy Centre this morning after reports of a burning smell coming from one of the walls.

Three crews arrived at the commercial premises on Castle St, which supplies steam and hot water to Dunedin Hospital and the University of Otago, about 9am.

Firefighters were seen on the roof carrying a fire extinguisher.
