Fire crews from across Dunedin have responded to a fire alarm at Toitū Otago Settlers Museum this evening.

A Fire and Emergency New Zealand spokeswoman said crews were called to an alarm activation in the museum about 9pm.

They found no sign of fire or smoke but were investigating the cause of the alarm.

Crews from Dunedin, Willowbank, St Kilda and Roslyn attended.

The level of response reflected the potential risk to the building, the spokeswoman said.
