Fire in North Dunedin extinguished

Firefighters managed to extinguish a fire on the side of a North Dunedin property late last night.

Fire and Emergency NZ southern communications shift manager Lyn Crosson said crews from Willowbank and Dunedin Central stations were deployed to a house in Queen St about 11.30pm.

A fire was reported to have caught on the side of the home, but the crews extinguished it without issue.

The cause was unknown but was not thought to be suspicious, and neither police nor a fire investigator were advised.
