Firefighters work on freeing a car jammed into the traffic island in Princes St yesterday. A police spokesman said emergency services were called to the scene at 3pm after two vehicles crashed at the South Rd and Princes St intersection. Both drivers were taken to hospital as a precaution and both vehicles were towed away at 3.45pm. Inquiries were ongoing into the cause of the crash.
