Further complaints of harassment

Police are investigating further claims of harassment against a Dunedin woman who feels she has been made the face of an ''anti-student'' campaign.

View St resident Carol Devine told the Otago Daily Times last week she had been the target of harassment and online attacks since a segment on student behaviour in Dunedin aired on TVNZ's Sunday programme earlier this month.

Police yesterday confirmed Ms Devine had complained of further harassment during the weekend.

She told police cars were driving up and down her street all hours of the night and people were calling out her name, Acting Senior Sergeant Craig Dinnissen said.

The University of Otago confirmed last week that the proctor was also looking into the matter.

Acting Snr Sgt Dinnissen said no one had been arrested or warned in relation to the alleged harassment, but police were investigating.

''We have got an ongoing interest ... with what's going on,'' he said.

Ms Devine said she had suffered ''identity destruction'' since she spoke out about her concerns that student partying outside the campus area was getting out of control.
