A glass door was smashed at a Dunedin backpackers last night, when two people tried to get into the Filleul St hostel.
A man kicked the door, breaking it, and police were called about 11.30pm, Senior Sergeant Anthony Bond said.
A resolution, such as paying for damage, would be considered, he said.
