A thief targeting gardening gear and gnomes is at large in Mosgiel.
Sergeant John Hedges, of Dunedin, said about six properties had been hit by the green-fingered offender, who took gnomes, hoses and gardening gear from Forfar St and Factory Rd.
"So someone’s setting up house out there."
Last year, several pot plants went missing from homes in the St Kilda area and a couple in Brighton were left distraught after the theft of about 120 plants from their Taieri Mouth Rd property.
The native plants and trees were later returned to the couple under cover of darkness.
