A scene involving a yacht and a helicopter on Otago Harbour has been explained after it prompted questions today.
A photo of the incident was posted on Twitter this afternoon, the poster wondering what was going on.
Helicopters Otago pilot David Gale said a helicopter was needed to transport the yacht from a residential property across Portobello Rd and on to the harbour.

"The man had been building the boat for a number of years,'' Mr Gale said.
"He built it in his front yard and had no way of carting it down to the harbour.''
Mr Gale said Portobello Rd was closed for a couple of minutes while the boat was moved.
