Contractors install new concrete panels, as part of work to prevent erosion and maintain beach access at Dunedin's St Clair Beach, yesterday.
The panels are being installed at the eastern end of the sea wall, to help ensure easier access to the beach during winter, when large waves erode the area above the ramp.
The panels are expected to be largely covered by sand during summer months, but would help ensure the St Clair Surf Life Saving Club continued to have access to the beach from its clubhouse.
