It's a tall order: beautify the walls of buildings in and around Dunedin's warehouse precinct.
International, national and local artists are rising to the task this week, as part of the Dunedin Street Art Festival.
Dunedin Street Art member Dr Glen Hazelton said some artists began working at the weekend and others would begin during the week as they arrived in the city.
''Some will paint through the night and others through the day. Some prefer to do it more undercover.''
Already, the works had attracted a steady audience, watching the artists' progress.
The aim was for the works - in varying stages - to be viewed during the Vogel St street party on Saturday night, he said.
