A Dunedin City Council committee has voted in favour of bringing forward $110,000 in Mosgiel roading improvements.
At its latest meeting, the infrastructure services committee voted to speed up roading work - from 2015-16 to 2014-15 - because of the unexpected pace of development of Syd Brown's Highland Park subdivision.
The committee's approval means the issue will come up for final approval at this week's full council meeting.
Council transportation group manager Gene Ollerenshaw said in a report the subdivision was placing ''significant demands'' on the southern side of Factory Rd, Wingatui Rd south of Factory Rd, and the intersection between the two.
Mr Brown had asked for roading improvements to be brought forward, to coincide with construction of the entrance to his subdivision, Mr Ollerenshaw said.
Mr Ollerenshaw said the costs of the work on the two roads would be covered by development contributions.
