Injury crash in city investigated

Police are investigating the cause of a crash which resulted in two people being taken to hospital in Dunedin yesterday.

A van and car collided on the corner of Jetty and Crawford Sts at 7.55am.

Both drivers were taken by ambulance to Dunedin Hospital, although their injuries were not thought to be serious, Senior Sergeant Darryl Lennane, of Dunedin, said.

One of the drivers had to be cut from their vehicle, which had sustained extensive frontal damage, Snr Sgt Lennane said. There were no passengers in the vehicles.

No other information was available last night.
