A volunteer organisation providing early childhood education for preschoolers in Pine Hill is upset its premises has again become the target of vandalism.

Rudolf Steiner Kindergarten facilitator Cecil Tamang said she arrived at the kindergarten last Friday to find a window on the north side of the building had been smashed.

And yesterday morning, she found two more windows broken on the east side of the building and shards of glass over the floor.

"We've been here for about a year without any vandalism. Before we moved in, the buildings were set for demolition because no-one wanted them.

"The buildings used to get vandalised a lot before we moved in.

"It's disappointing that it's started again," she said.

The windows have now been replaced with safety glass.

Unfortunately, the cost was cutting into the money the kindergarten would have preferred to spend on children's learning equipment rather than repairs, she said.

"We're a community group run by volunteers with very little funds.

"This is a real financial drag for us. It's something we can all do without."
