Miss Latta worked on the heist film, titled Mission Botanical, from 7pm on Friday until it was handed in, in flash-drive form,  yesterday.

It was the second time Miss Latta has taken part in the film-making contest in which many key requirements, including the film genre, are revealed only at the last minute.

The 48-hour film-making event, "HP48Hours",  includes both first-time film-makers and experienced directors.

The competition’s Dunedin area manager, Miguel Nitis, who has entered the event about eight times, said entries were up  this year, from about 30 to 32, and entries from Dunedin itself were also up by a similar margin at 22.The event attracted entries from Otago, Southland and  South Canterbury.

Winners of the Dunedin area event will be announced on June 9.
