Gaps in support services for migrant women is part of a conversation Presbyterian Support Otago is keen to have with residents.

PSO community development worker Noora Frantz said while PSO staff were "not sure yet'' if there were any gaps in the services provided by organisations across the city, they were putting out the call for women to get in contact if they felt they could need more support.

She said some of the women she interacted with through her community development worker role talked of social isolation and difficulty finding work, even if they were highly qualified.

"[We are] unsure if there is a larger need or [it is] just a few people.''

Ms Frantz encouraged migrant residents to get in contact with Presbyterian Support to offer their ideas around how to increase social connection and skill development or to see how PSO could support any initiatives.

They would also be able refer and connect individuals to necessary services, including the Dunedin Multi-ethnic Council, if they could help, she said.
