A branch on a power line was the cause of outage that affected 600 Aurora customers in Mosgiel last night.
An Aurora Energy spokeswoman said windy conditions likely caused the branch to fall on Bush Rd about 9pm last night.
Power was out for more than an hour and was restored after 10pm.
The spokeswoman said the public should always keep clear of fallen power lines or damaged equipment.
"Treat them as live at all times."
