A motorcyclist is seriously injured after crashing into a power pole in rural Otago this morning.
The man was riding on State Highway 85 near Dunback, 14km northwest of Palmerston, when he collided with the pole, sustaining serious injuries.
He was flown to Dunedin Hospital by helicopter, a Dunedin police spokesman told NZPA.
Police could not yet say why the man left the road. Serious crash unit investigators were at the scene, he said.
