Contractors for the New Zealand Transport Agency have a full schedule of work over the next few months for the Caversham Highway project.

By the end of this month they should have completed the sealing of Aberfeldy St and, by the end of March, the Aberfeldy St intersection upgrade and tie-in to the highway.

In the meantime, Lookout Point earthworks will continue as will the installation of a water main there. That work should also be finished by the end of March.

Contractors will continue to construct the main carriageway, as well as lighting and footpath construction from Barnes Dr to Aberfeldy St, between now and the end of April.

Construction of the carriageway and footpath from Aberfeldy St to Lookout Point will begin next month, as will work on the Mornington Rd intersection and tie-in to the highway.

The multimillion-dollar project is being completed in two stages.

The first stage, north of Barnes Dr, was finished last year.
