About 800 people attended the funeral of Taieri woman Gayle Hall, the mother of paralympian gold medalist Adam Hall, in Mosgiel, today.
Mrs Hall (48), a midwife and mother of two, died in a car crash near her Woodside home last Wednesday. She is the mother of paralympic gold medallist Adam Hall.
The tears were equalled by laughter during the tribute-filled 90-minute service.
Mourners filled a funeral chapel and a nearby hall.
Adam Hall and his sister Mikaeyla told the gathering the last month they spent as a family with Mrs Hall and their father Lindsay, in Canada and the United States during Adam's gold medal campaign at the paralympics winter games, was the best time of their lives.
