Two school dental clinics open this month, in Mosgiel and South Dunedin, as part of the reorganisation of children's oral health services.
On Thursday, Mosgiel Dental Clinic opens in Green St, replacing the clinic at Silverstream School. An open day will be held from noon to 6pm.
The two-chair clinic is for pupils up to year 8 from Mosgiel and outlying areas such as Outram.
On December 14, the South Dunedin Dental Clinic opens.
Another open day is planned, from noon to 6pm.
The three-chair clinic at Macandrew Intermediate School replaces clinics in South Dunedin and the surrounding hill suburbs.
Mobile clinics to complement the clinics will be provided in areas such as Portobello, Port Chalmers and Wakari.
Last Friday, the joint Faculty of Dentistry and Southern DHB dental clinic opened, for children in northern areas of Dunedin.
