Police have released the names of the two people who died in a crash on State Highway 1 between East Taieri and Allanton, south of Dunedin on Friday.
Erica Ward (27) and Cody James Cowie (24) both of Dunedin died at the scene.
Police said they attended the scene about 3am on March 31 after a report of a head-on collision between a car and a heavy truck.
The police investigation into the cause of the crash is ongoing.
Earlier police mistakenly provided the identifications without Mr Cowie's family name.
