"As soon as I entered, I saw water everywhere.
"The shop was flooding in the front.
"For a moment I was thinking, shall I just go and put my swimming togs on? The weather is good today", she joked.
She decided not to go with the flow and instead spent most of the morning sweeping the water back out of her St Andrew St shop.
She said she was not sure if any permanent damage had been done to the shop or its stock.
The water appeared to be bubbling up out from under the footpath, on the front corner of her shop.
Three Fire and Emergency New Zealand fire appliances attending a false alarm across the street, came to her aid about 9.40am, and a Dunedin City Council contractor was called soon after to fix the problem.
It was not yet known where the water was coming from or what had caused the leak.
