Demolition has begun at the former Warehouse site in central Dunedin before it is transformed into the new Otago Regional Council headquarters.
The partial demolition of the Maclaggan St site will include the removal of the existing cladding and roofing, and stripping the building back to its structural elements before the site is converted into council chambers, office space and work areas for council staff.

The council has recently confirmed it has extended its lease at its at Philip Laing House offices, in Rattray St, until October 2025. Corporate services general manager and chief financial officer Nick Donnelly said the lease was extended to coincide with the expected completion of the new Maclaggan St headquarters.
