Skateboarder, vehicle collide

Emergency services help a 49-year-old skateboarder near the corner of London and Scotland Sts in central Dunedin yesterday morning after he and a vehicle collided.

Senior Sergeant Anthony Bond, of Dunedin, said the incident happened about 7.45am when the skateboarder failed to give way at the intersection of Heriot Row, and went into the path of a vehicle going up the hill in London St.

The man was transported to Dunedin Hospital with minor injuries.

Police are still investigating the incident.

They said it was too early to say if charges would be laid.
