Spate of vehicle crashes around city yesterday

Emergency services were kept busy yesterday afternoon, following a spate of car crashes around Dunedin.

A police spokeswoman said one person was taken to hospital with minor injuries after two cars crashed in Mosgiel about noon.

The crash occurred at the corner of High St and Doon St.

At 1.30pm, a driver on Dunedin's Northern Motorway was lucky to escape without serious injury when their car rolled between Pine Hill Rd and Waitati Valley Rd.

She said the driver was treated for minor injuries at the scene by St John Ambulance staff.

Then at 3.17pm, two cars collided at the intersection of Victoria Rd and John Wilson Ocean Dr.

Two people were taken to Dunedin Hospital with moderate injuries.

About five minutes later, two cars collided at the intersection of Andersons Bay Rd and McBride St, but no-one was injured, she said.

Another crash happened at 3.27pm, when a car hit a power pole on the corner of Tedder St and Market St, after colliding with another car.

One person received minor injuries, she said.
