Unlike the soles of their shoes, winning never wears thin for the St Hilda's Collegiate aerobics team.

The group of 48 girls won six national titles at the NZCAF National Schools Aerobics Championship and won the aggregate for the third year in a row at the weekend, as well as finishing runner-up in the NZCAF National Schools Hip-Hop Championship, both in Lower Hutt.

St Hilda's assistant principal and teacher in charge of aerobics Shannon Prentice said the results were ''pretty amazing''.

''They work incredibly hard and their level of dedication to their rehearsals and fitness is pretty phenomenal.''

Many of the girls had been training three times a week since school started in February this year.

''It's quite a big commitment for them.

''We've got a pretty strong group this year.''

Otago and Southland teams featured prominently in the results.
