A collaboration between artists in the mental health community and the Dunedin Fringe Festival has provided the latest fashion item in the city's art world.
For the first time, Artsenta, a shared studio for people within the mental health community, has screen printed T-shirts for the festival.
Festival director Josh Thomas said he had seen, on a visit last year, the different activities Artsenta did and realised its screen-printing capabilities could help the festival.
''I thought what a great collaboration it would be.''
About 90 T-shirts were produced for festival volunteers, and to sell.
While the two community organisations had worked together in the past, this was the first time Artsenta had produced T-shirts for the event.
''It's a nice alignment between the fringe, and what Artsenta does.''
Artsenta art worker Chris Schmelz said the production of the T-shirts was a collaboration between artists at the facility, which had been running for the last 29 years, and staff.
''It's pretty unusual, but we wanted to support the festival.''
The festival begins with the Opening Night Showcase at the Regent Theatre next Wednesday.
