They came, they roared, they triumphed - as more than 240 Triumph motorcycle enthusiasts descended on Dunedin at the weekend.
It was the first time the Triumph Owners Motorcycle Club of New Zealand had held its annual rally in Dunedin, and the event attracted motorcyclists from as far afield as England.
Two Devon-based riders, Joe Selley, with his 1973 X75 Hurricane, and Ian Johnston, with his TR6C Trophy, said New Zealand was the motorcycling capital of the world.
Their month-long trip was definitely living up to their expectations, they said.
"It won't be our last visit here," Mr Johnston said,Despite taking a ribbing for wearing a BSA T-shirt, he said no matter where you travelled in the world there were always people passionate about Triumph motorcycles and New Zealand was no exception.
Organiser Wayne Woodward, of Christchurch, said the rally had gone smoothly and it was likely to return to the area in the future.
